Have I Mentioned The New Baby?

We have a new baby in our family. It had been four years since we had a little curtain climber and believe this one is a honey. (I have said that about all of them) Grandparents!

This little darling is going to think I live at the airport because once a month they pick me up from there and then drop me off on Sunday afternoon.

I just love babies. They are so, loving and have such unconditional love. The older kids say this is my favorite grandchild. At the present she is but the minute she bosses me, won’t mind me and tries to argue me into the ground about where to go eat I will head for the first exit. While, of course, I adore all my grandchildren there is something to be said about a kid that isn’t smarter than me yet. Her little eyes light up when she sees me and with the other grand’s their eyes kind of glaze over. I sure had fun with them when they were little though.

Now back to this little darling…she is just precious and a very good baby. I could just kiss her to pieces and I think she would let me. Certainly my once a month visit isn’t long enough but I have to see her and we take whatever time we can get.

Now here is the crazy part. After I return from my trip I call my mother to tell her what the baby is doing at the point, how much she has grown and how darling she is. My mother starts talking about her baby. Hmmm, how sweet she is, how she is so smart and how they wonder what their lives would be without her. It’s all I can do from screaming “You are talking to me about a DOG” and I am telling you about the offspring of my offspring of your off spring. The upside to having a dog rather than a child is that you can put the dog in its cage and go off and leave it.
Have I mentioned that I don’t tell my mother a lot about our new baby? I just can’t hear one more dog tale…I guess that is the way people feel about me when I want to tell them about our new baby.

Sincerely,
Sandy
